At 56 Jennifer Aniston Attributes This 30 Minute Exercise Session to Preserving Strength and Lean Muscle

Jennifer Aniston, a well-known actress from Hollywood, used to do high-intensity cardio like running or boxing for 45 minutes every day. After years of doing hard, high-impact workouts, her body started to want to move in a way that was softer but still strong. She went to Pvolve, a low-impact workout that focuses on building functional strength, after that change.

Her trainer, Dani Coleman, has been helping her focus on strength and longevity instead of just how hard she can work out.

Why getting stronger is more important as you get older

Jennifer says, “Muscle holds up our skeleton.” “Our bones can become weak and brittle as we get older and lose muscle mass.” This can cause osteoporosis. One of the most common ways that older people get hurt is by falling and breaking a bone because they don’t have enough muscle support. We don’t want that to happen.

Health outside of the gym
Jennifer’s health routine includes more than just exercise. She told Women’s Health recently about the many things she does to stay happy, balanced, and full of energy, like spending time with her two dogs.

Jennifer Aniston’s Q&A about how to live a healthy life

I let my dogs, Clyde and Chesterfield, run around outside, and then I mix 16 ounces of water with colostrum, hair-growth peptides, and the juice of a whole lemon. I eat that first, about half an hour to an hour before breakfast or coffee.

Who gave you ideas when you were a kid?

My grandma. I liked sitting with her in the kitchen while she made Greek cookies, pastries, and spanakopita. She was always so nice to me and made me laugh.

Nothing makes me happier than curling up on the couch with my two dogs and watching a good show.

How do you stay healthy for a long time?

It is very important to take care of your muscles. Dani, my trainer, and I work out together three to five times a week. I also take a Pilates class every now and then to change things up.

What do you do to keep your mind healthy?

I make an effort to meditate every day. Some days are too busy for a full 20 minutes, but I can still find 10 minutes or a short break to breathe and clear my head.

When was the last time you felt like you were on top of the world?

That’s how I always feel when I’m done with something. It feels great to finish something that took a lot of time and effort and was important to me. The last thing I did was work on season four of The Morning Show.
